About This Event

We are delighted to welcome the award-winning cellist Adrian Bradbury to Marchmont accompanied on piano and harpsichord by Marchmont’s Musical Director Simon Leach.

The concert is the first in our Music at Marchmont four-part series, led by Simon Leach.

The concert will take place in Sir Robert Lorimer’s majestic oak-panelled Music Room.

Doors will open at 6:30 pm for pre-concert drinks which are included in the ticket price. The concert will start at 7:00 pm and finish at 8:15 pm without an interval.

The full programme is yet to be confirmed, but will included the World Premier of Helen Leach’s Hommage à Edgar Degas, and works by Vivaldi and Fauré.

No dogs are permitted other than registered guide dogs.

We will happily offer a refund or credit for another date provided 14 days’ notice is given.

Adrian Bradbury was principal cello in the National Youth Orchestra before winning scholarships to Churchill College, Cambridge (where he read Veterinary Science and Music) and then to the Royal Academy of Music. After further study in Berlin he developed an international career in chamber music, winning a Royal Philharmonic Society Chamber Award. Adrian has given countless world premieres of solos and chamber works by composers including Judith Bingham and James MacMillan.

Adrian is a regular guest principal player with orchestras including BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, Ensemble Modern, London Concert Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra and Welsh National Opera.

Adrian’s chamber music discs have variously won “Editor’s Choice” in Gramophone and BBC Music Magazine, and “CD of the Month” in the Daily Telegraph and The Strad.
